Bumblebees have their own designated learning area with immediate access to the outdoor space and to the sleep room, which is also used for quiet time and focused play throughout the day.
Dragonflies
Dragonflies is for children from age 2 to the term after they turn 3. The maximum capacity for this room is 15 children, with a staff ratio of 1:5.
The children in Dragonflies have their own indoor learning space whilst also playing outside as much as possible in the dedicated Nursery garden and on the wheeled toys in the courtyard area.
Ladybirds
Children join Ladybirds the term after they turn 3. Whilst Ladybirds learn creatively through play, they also participate in early phonics and maths activities as a regular feature. The Ladybirds children regularly join up with the rest of the school, including attending church services and eating lunch in the school hall. Year 6 play leaders spend time with Ladybirds children at lunchtimes, helping to build an invaluable bond between the oldest and the youngest in the school as an important feature of our transition offer preparing children for Reception.
