Session Timings

We find regular attendance is invaluable in helping children to settle into the routines of Nursery life and therefore recommend a minimum of 2 sessions a week. Although not a requirement, more frequent attendance does help the children quickly become familiar with the staff, children, environment and routines.

Our session timings are as follows:

Breakfast Club

7:30am – 8:30am

Morning Session

8:30am – 11:30am

Lunchtime

11:30am – 12:15pm

Afternoon Session

12:15pm – 3:15pm

Twilight Session

3:15pm – 6:00pm

Fee Policy

Please see our current fee policy below.  The government funded hours can be applied to any session.  There is no minimum hours attendance requirement and there is no additional payment required if the government funding covers all hours attended.  Unlike many other nurseries, we do not charge a top-up fee on any funded hours and we do not charge for bank holidays or for school closures due to INSET days.  For any questions regarding our fees, please get in touch at nursery@wadhurstpri.e-sussex.sch.uk

Lunches

We value mealtimes as an important part of the children’s physical and social learning and we encourage good sitting at tables to promote interactions between peers and the correct use of tableware.

Children are able to bring their own packed lunch or purchase a school dinner via the ParentPay website on a regular or ad hoc basis. Bumblebees and Dragonflies eat their lunches in the Nursery building, while Ladybirds are served and eat school lunches in the school hall.  Freshly prepared on the premises by our external caterers Chartwells, the menus offer a wide range of meal options encouraging children to try new tastes and flavours.  Please see here for an example menu.

In Nursery we are proud to be a part of East Sussex’s HALO (Health Active Little Ones) project and the school has won the Healthy School Award. A key aspect of the children’s learning, we actively promote healthy eating along with strategies to prepare them for adopting healthy lifestyles. In addition to the school lunches offer, which caters for all dietary requirements, we encourage children to bring healthy lunchboxes that respect their own allergies and intolerances and those of their peers.

Term Dates

The nursery operates the same term dates as the Primary School.  Please see here for the current term dates.
